The Malbec “A Lisa” by Bodega Noemía originates in Argentina in the region of Patagonia. The winery was established thanks to the work of the Countess and Italian wine producer Noemi Marone Cinzano and the Danish oenologist Hans Vinding-Diers, who around 2001 decided to collaborate to create excellent wines in Argentina. They purchased an old Malbec vineyard and decided to try vinifying; it resulted in an excellent wine that over time was perfected and at the same time the production was expanded, gaining notoriety as well. Today the activity is managed solely by Hans Vinding-Diers and his family.
The pure Malbec grapes of “A Lisa” by Bodega Noemía are cultivated on alluvial soils, a characteristic that makes them particularly suited for vinification. The sun in this area is always shining with significant winds and temperature variations between day and night that ensure good grape ripening. The presence of the Rio Negro is significant, as it crosses the desert, creating an oasis green that makes the soil suitable for viticulture: it was the Italian engineer Cesare Cipolletti who studied a system of canals to channel water to irrigate the Valle del Rio Negro. Once the manual harvest is completed, the grapes are crushed by foot; fermentation is initiated with selected yeasts provided by the Danish laboratory in open steel tanks; it ages for 9 months in oak barrels.
The Malbec “A Lisa” by Bodega Noemía presents itself in the glass as a dark ruby red. The aromas are intense and reminiscent of berries with pleasant spicy notes on the finish; on the palate, young tannins are noticeable, but not intrusive, and a warm and welcoming overall structure with a pleasant long and persistent finish. It pairs perfectly with typical cuts of red meat from Argentine tradition, first courses with meat-based sauces, and aged cheeses for an interesting end of meal. A product to be enjoyed on occasions of joyful and carefree evenings with lifelong friends to discover the product of a distant and promising land.
