The Malvasia “Francangelo” by Pinnata is a concentrate of fruit and island, a perfect meeting point between aromaticity and salty push. It cannot be denied that wines produced on islands possess a unique and engaging character, sensual expressions of often wild and unspoiled territories, where the vines become expressive vehicles of the area and never overpowering. The island of Lipari is the splendid backdrop of the micro-production of Punta Aria, a winery born from the dream of Francangelo Pollastri to create a sort of place suspended between space and time. The cultivated hectares are just 5, as are the bottles produced which do not reach 9000 specimens, allowing for careful and scrupulous monitoring of the vineyard and winemaking, especially regarding the ripeness of the grapes, some of which are also dried to produce an extraordinary sweet wine. A young reality to undoubtedly keep an eye on.
The “Francangelo” Pinnata is produced with pure Malvasia delle Lipari grapes from vineyards located in contrada Gelso Lipari on the island of Vulcano in the Aeolian Islands.and that benefit from the influence of the sea. In the vineyard, maximum attention is paid to controlling yields and the ripening of the grapes, with manual selection of the clusters and the adoption of organic farming practices. In the winery, alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel and aging for 7 months on the lees in the same containers.
The wine "Francangelo" presents itself in the glass with a bright straw-yellow color. An intense and highly expressive nose, characterized by notes of apricot, orange blossom, dried fruit, aromatic herbs, and briny hints. Corresponding to the complex olfactory profile is a tasting that is soft and intricate, in perfect balance between rich texture and refreshing salty finish. Scenic.
