Mantonico L'Acino 2013

The Mantonico Macerato by L’Acino is a wine that tells a unique story, that of Antonello Canonico, Dino Briglio and Emilio Di Cianni; three friends that after the years of universities have decided to crown their dream, make wine in Sicily. And there's more: their design, as well as being attractive, also has a very important cultural and ethical significance; Antonello, Dino and Emilio have rented a vineyard at 600 meters above sea level; a vineyard of Mantonico Puntinato that led to this Mantonico Macerato; we are in Pollino, between Frascineto and Castrovillari. A rugged landscape, desert, just fantastic, almost surreal silence reigns, where the wind is the perfect companion of the days and the scents are those of intense dried flowers, sea salt, fennel and gentian. The Mantonico Macerato by L’Acino has a gold color that comes in part from refining in oak barrels and partly by long maceration that Antonello, Dino and Emilio give their wines. It smells of elderberries and a minerality and a long life really crazy.
