Schioppettino Riserva Moschioni 2012

The Schioppettino by Moschioni is one of those wines that we would like to define wonderful. It’s a red wine that retains all the history, tradition, philosophy and the character of Michele Moschioni, a large grower that in a land dominated by whites, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, has decided to conquer the audience and delight his audience with the red wines of extraordinary intensity and magnificent character. We are in Cividale del Friuli, on vineyards facing South-East, situated at 140 meters above sea level, on soils rich in clay and flysch sediments characterized by cyclic alternations of sandstone, clay and marl. A great terroir, the first real strength of this Schioppettino brewing with its indigenous yeast in wooden vats and being left to age for 12 months in barriques for 12 months in large oak barrels and terminating its maturation stainless steel where remains for at least 6 months. We are faced with a wine completely natural, unfiltered, which has a long life, at least for the next 15 years. A wine that will evolve beautifully over the years, leaving the fruity notes of cherry and berries that distinguish it now on calls to evolve more seasoning, which will dominate the coffee, pepper and cinnamon.
